Exploring sustainable livelihoods
Questions to bring to a conversation about BSF production, organic fertilizer and practical learning.

At a glance
- Describe your setting and learning goals.
- Ask about practical requirements before committing.
- Confirm training availability directly with ASIF.
Understand the programme focus
ASIF works on Black Soldier Fly production, insect protein, organic fertilizer and sustainable farming. For a prospective participant, these are starting points for a conversation about learning and local opportunities.
An overview cannot tell you whether a particular activity is suitable for your circumstances. Your location, experience, available space and the support you would need all matter to that discussion.
Bring questions, not assumptions
Explain what you would like to learn and whether you are enquiring as an individual, farmer, community group or potential partner. Ask which activities are available and what preparation, equipment, costs and time commitments need to be considered.
When you ask about training, also ask what happens after a session: whether further guidance is available, what practice is expected and who can answer questions as you explore the subject.
Agree on an informed next step
Keep a record of the arrangements the team confirms. A programme description should not be treated as a guarantee of income, access to equipment or a place on a course. Discuss your expectations explicitly.
If you are interested in the sustainable agriculture programme, share a short description of your situation with ASIF and ask for the current approved training information.
